Today is “Become a Grumpy Tapir Day” aka making the sound effects for the film!!! Should be good times…..I laughed at the end of this clip because as I was recording, I was following along with the Tapir in the film….anyway this is just me testing out the perfect “MEHHH” noise.
I don’t reallllly know if these will work for the beginning/ending of the film, but it was too fun not to do it. HEE. I made a scary happy frog, but it freaks me out so I’m definitely not using it. What’s he so happy about, anyway? Murdering his entire family???? ….well… maybe not.

I’m not great at drawing, but sometimes I can pull off what I’m trying to go for…. sometimes… quite happy with this.

Doing a little bit of 2D drawings for the intro of the film before I get too sleepy (which I already am…marrrf) I want to at least start tonight. I can’t move Hubert the Tapir because he needs to stay in the position he’s in so I can continue filming a scene another night….but Snarley is over here at my desk with me so I can use him as reference whilst I’m drawing. Anyhoo, tis all for now.
SIGN.OF.RELIEF. It’s going well :)

Guess that’s all the posts I’m going to make on here for a while…going to keep stop motioning and then I think I’ll revisit this blog and go into more depth with certain things….things I skimmed over or didn’t mention. Really didn’t have the time or energy to really discuss much, and even though I think I’ll remember something…I probably won’t..so yes, I’ll post a bit during my filming and then again when It’s finished (!!!!!) and then when the semester has calmed down/is over, I’ll write more cohesive shtuff.
Had a bunch of lighting woes, but I stuck to using non-film/photo lights and I’m gonna roll with it. Not too much to report on. I’m tired, but gonna see how filming goes tonight.

Got out the collapsable table I bought to put the set on….I threw out the instructions a couple of months ago, because I figured, how could I forget to set up a table that (as they put it) has “No assembly required”. Well, needless to say, it took a lot of swearing and 30 minutes for me to remember how to put it together.
Finally got there, though, so here it is!!!!! (i swear it’ll look better when there is proper set lighting.) Camera magic makes shitty looking sets into kewlness.
WOOO time for class..

YAY. I sculpted the Coatimundi-esque character today. :B Now I just need to do a lighting test and then I can start filming!

First of all…Tucan is no more. I’ve replaced him with (scroll to find out!! haha i suck). I realllly messed up his proportions and I wouldn’t be able to animate him and I just thought…screw it and changed the species to a mammal. Sorry birds.
Wut.

Had the most f-ing busy week that I didn’t have a moment to work on my Major. Anyway, I was avoiding making the background, because I wasn’t sure what the best approach would be, but I’m taking a leap and i’ll post what I have so far (I ran out of plaster half way through, again!!…bought some more though.)
Here’s how I started, not knowing what the hell I was doing:

Starting to look like it -might- work out:
